About Our Club

Membership in the K-State Flying Club is open to the public.

Our club was founded in 1955 as the Civil Air Cadets Flying Club, based in Wamego, and three years later was moved to Manhattan and re-named the KS Flying Club, Inc (d/b/a K-State Flying Club).  We have been in continuous operation since 1955.  Our mission is to provide members with safe, clean, well-equipped airplanes at the most economical rates possible.

To join the corporation, you must buy a share of stock for $600 which is refunded when you resign from the corporation in good standing. New members also pay a $60 non-refundable processing fee. Monthly dues are $90.

There are corporation-approved flight instructors available for instruction at all levels of training from the private pilot’s license through the commercial certification. The cost of obtaining a private pilot’s license is dependent on individual ability but will usually total between $4,500 and $6,000.

Our club lobby offers:

  • A computer, printer, and internet access for member use.
  • Free Wi-Fi access.
  • Soda vending machine.

If you would like to inquire about joining our club, you may E-Mail the Vice President or call him at 785-341-3669 and he will be glad to assist you!
